Where water becomes sacred and the glacier sings Ausangate is not just a snow-capped peak — it is the guardian of Cusco, the Great Apu that watches over Andean communities from the heights. At its feet lie seven intensely colored lagoons, scattered like liquid offerings across a landscape that feels otherworldly. This tour is a natural pilgrimage, a deep connection with water, earth, and sky. One day, seven sacred reflections.
Meals: Breakfast + Launch
04:30 – 05:00 a.m.
Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco Departure south of Cusco, through highland landscapes, glacial valleys, and remote Andean villages.
07:30 – 08:30 a.m.
Breakfast in Tinke or Pacchanta Enjoy a traditional Andean breakfast in a local community — a moment of physical and spiritual preparation before the ascent.
08:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Start of the hike from Pacchanta The journey begins along communal farmlands, gradually approaching the majestic Ausangate. Along the trail, you’ll discover the seven lagoons: Pucacocha Patacocha Alqacocha Otorongo Cocha (male and female) Qomercocha Azulcocha Each one with its own color, story, and spirit.
11:00 – 01:00 p.m.
Free time for meditation and photos Time to breathe, give thanks, and be amazed. The landscape is dominated by the presence of Ausangate, its glaciers, and the sacred energy that flows between the waters and the mountain.
13:00 – 14:30 p.m.
Return hike to Pacchanta Descent back to the community. Possibility of spotting vizcachas, llamas, and high-Andean birds.
14:30 – 15:00 p.m.
Optional hot spring bath Relax your body in Pacchanta’s thermal pools with a view of the snow-capped peaks (optional, weather and time permitting).
15:00 – 15:30 p.m.
Traditional Andean lunch Lunch at a communal restaurant or local home — a great moment to recharge and share with local families.
15:30 – 18:30 p.m.
Return to Cusco Drive back across the highlands toward the imperial city. Estimated arrival in Cusco between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m.
